Wii Party (Wiiパーティ) is a party game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii video game console. The game heavily borrows game play elements from the Mario Party series, another Nintendo franchise. It is also the first game in the Wii series that Shigeru Miyamoto did not produce. Wii Party features 13 different game modes divided amongst three categories: Party Games, House Party Games, and Pair Games. Most of the game modes integrate use of Wii Party's 80 mini-games. The game also offers additional modes that make exclusive use of the mini-games.

Emulation Information

Language Region Mismatch

Wii Party might not start unless the Wii language setting is set to a value matching the region of the game. With Dolphin 5.0-10866 or newer, the language setting will automatically match the region of the game, and there is a new setting (Options > Configuration > General > Allow Mismatched Region Settings) used for optionally disabling this behavior. On older versions of Dolphin (or if Mismatched Region Settings is turned on), you may need to change the Wii language setting manually (Options > Configuration > Wii > System Language) and choose a compatible language by region:

  • Japanese for NTSC-J (SUPJ01)
  • English, Spanish, or French for NTSC-U (SUPE01)
  • English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, or Dutch for PAL (SUPP01)
  • Korean for NTSC-K (SUPK01)

Animal Tracker

Animal Tracker uses multiple Wii Remotes all making different sounds and using the Wii Remote speaker at the same time. It's impossible to play with emulated controllers and speakers. Use a real Wii Remotes to avoid this.

Problems

Lucky Launch: Winning Mii Face

The face of the winning Mii is not displayed in the Lucky Launch mini-game when the firecracker explodes if the 'Store EFB Copies to Texture only' option is active. To solve the problem, the option must be deactivated.

House Party Button

With the Direct3D graphics backend the House Party button shows partly black. Use OpenGL or disable Ignore Format Changes to address this with Direct3D (changes only occur after restarting the game). Fixed since at least 5.0-10603.
