Koe (声) is a JRPG which introduces you to the Japanese language through traditional gameplay elements found in classic and modern Japanese role-playing games. Begin your journey as a high school exchange student ready to take on their senior year in the small Japanese town of Sakuracho. A collusion of a rural Japanese city with the fantasy world of Koe is the setting of your journey. As you begin your travels you will find yourself at an airport at the beginning of the game, and will soon travel to your home to the town of Sakurachou. As a wild youth, elementary school student Shouya Ishida sought to beat boredom in the cruelest ways. When the deaf Shouko Nishimiya transfers into his class, Shouya and the rest of his class thoughtlessly bully her for fun. However, when her mother notifies the school, he is singled out and blamed for everything done to her. With Shouko transferring out of the school, Shouya is left at the mercy of his classmates.
