While I understand the Mac OS isn't officially supported by Dell, it would still be good to know if and when a future firmware update for the U2718Q will correct this problem permanently.
- Jan 19, 2018 Firmware Update package (ver. M2B102) for U2718Q monitor. IMPORTANT NOTE: The monitor firmware update will take approximately 10 minutes. Interruptions during the update process such as disconnecting or turning off the monitor or PC will cause damage to your monitor.
- For Dell to troubleshoot, the U2718Q must be connected using a true Windows operating system computer. Dell does not provide support for this monitor on Apple operating system and hardware. The U2718Q driver page only shows Windows drivers. The U2718Q User's Guide only mentions Windows.
I am using that Dell U2718Q display with my 2013 Mac Pro with virtually no issues. Just use Dell's Mini DisplayPort cable to displayport and make sure Dell is set to DP 1.2

I also own the late 2013 rMBPro 15 inch and have not tried the Dell but I'm sure it will work just as good as my Mac Pro. Maybe not at 60 hz but 50 but would be fine.

The only problem I have found is during a install of High Sierra the hz rate is set at 30 and the RETINA option in display pane is then not available. But a pram reset fixes that reliably.
The big plus for the Dell is it sleeps well with High Sierra and the Mac.
if you have not bought it yet then let me know and I'll connect it to my rMBPro late 2013 just to confirm for you.

Dell U2718q Driver For Mac Pc
I've got a Dell P2217 monitor and I'm trying to connect a Macbook to it from the laptop's HDMI output to the monitor's HDMI input. I've tried it on two different Macbooks, but the monitor says it's not receiving a signal. I've tried holding the power button on the monitor for 10+ sec with everything unplugged and resetting the macbook settings (command-option P R). I haven't tried another HDMI cable, so that could be the issue, but are these even compatible to begin with?
